Chrysler Group LLC recently acknowledged that certain Chrysler 200 vehicles, and Dodge Avengers were assembled with broken control valves installed into fuel tank assemblies. These defective assemblies may lead to an engine stall or fuel leakage. This is serious. An engine stall while driving can result in a crash. A leak in the presence of a ignition source can result in fire.
The affected vehicles include Model Year 2013 Chrysler 200 cars, and Dodge Avengers. Chrysler Group LLC denies having knowledge of any stall, fuel leak, or accident events due to this defect.
Owners of these defective cars should immediately call Chrysler at 1 (800) 247-9753, and reference National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Campaign Number 13V-043. Owners may also contact NHTSA at 1 (888) 327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
Drive safely.
