National Highway Transportation Safety Administration was recently informed by Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC that certain of its vehicles were assembled with defective second row seat belts.
According to Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC, the tightening torque of the bolt securing the seat belt anchor fitting is too low. This condition can lead to a failure of the seat belt assembly and serious injuries to the occupant in the event of a crash. The following model year 2013 vehicles may be affected by the defect:
GL350 BlueTEC
Gl450 4MATIC
GL550 4MATIC
GL63 AMG
