Nissan North America, Inc. recently informed National Highway Traffic Safety Administration officers that certain Nissan cars are equipped with defective air bag systems.
Sensors within the passenger Occupant Detection System may contain a manufacturing defect that will cause suppression of the air bag in the event of a crash. It is unclear at this time as to the number of cars that are affected by the defect. The recall applies to the following scope of cars: Model Year 2013 Nissan Altima, LEAF, Pathfinder, Sentra, and Infinity JX35 cars. Owners of these defective cars will receive a recall notice from Nissan North America, Inc.
