Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motors America are starting a recollection of 500,000+ cars in the United States. The recollection includes the 2013 and 2014 model years Hyundai Elantra and 2012, 2013, and 2014 model years Kia Forte.

The defective cars have malfunctioning brake systems that conclude in the brake lights when braking and the driver moving out of the parking position when brakes are not connected. This issue has also completed that the driver could come out of the park without first applying the brakes.

Several Hyundai and Kia purchasers have complained about these malfunctioning brakes problems with their Elantras and Fortes in the last months.

Fortunately, there has been no reported injury, loss of life, or any accidents due to these issues.

When will this recall go into effect?

The Hyundai Elantra’s recollection started on January 30, 2018, and the recollection of Kia Forte began on February 8, 2018. Approved producers repaired the defective cars without any cost.
